Culture Night 2017

What a fantastic community event it was for Culture Night 2017 in Crookstown Craft Village! It completely symbolised what the spirit of the night means. From 8 to 80( including 17 local scouts),  there was a cross section of the arts, crafts and music  for everyone. So popular was Print Artist's  Corina's class that it had a waiting list.

The enthusiastic embroidery participants had to be persuaded to leave as they didn't want it to end. In Avril's Flower workshop, ( also booked out) all went home with a gorgeous champagne glass creation. The packed felt art class, (given  by knitwear designer Liadain) created beautiful colourful pictures.

Meanwhile many more revellers were happy to observe the crafts or watch amazing Artist, Mara finish an oil landscape or  talented  Imra, crochet one of her colourful, wooly animals.

Then on this  balmy, autumnal evening from  8  till late a mix of musicians and singers played their hearts out for a very appreciative crowd who were totally culturally relaxed enjoying refreshments

The major of Kildare, Cllr. Martin  (Junior ) Miley showed a hidden talent for print art! Who knew!
The creativity of Kildare natives knows no bounds and only goes from strength to strength but
of course we always knew that here in the Craft Village.
