Anne O'Reilly
My name is Anne and I have always been passionate about art and crafts. The Craft Village here in Crookstown has evolved from a small pottery workshop to a cluster of quirky log cabins/studios which are constantly changing to accommodate wonderfully talented craftspeople in 'Pop Up workshops .
As a primary school teacher for many years, I have taught art and calligraphy to children from ages seven to thirteen. I also give workshops in calligraphy and card making. Over the years, I have completed three different courses in the National College of Art and Design, (my favourite being calligraphy). I also have a particular interest in botanical , watercolour, flower painting and have participated in specialised tutorials in this area. I love every aspect of art and design, pencil and pen drawings, painting with acrylics, watercolours and creating pieces in calligraphy. As well as being involved in several group, art exhibitions, in 2009 I hosted a solo exhibition in the exhibition space of Naas, Co. Kildare Community Library. Presently I manage the Craft Village, including the Pottery and Gift Shop, organise events such as Culture Night, Craft Fairs, Christmas events, undertake commissions and design and hand make greeting cards in aid of the Christina Noble Children's Foundation. |
Eva Kazas - PotterMy name is Eva Kaszas. I was born in Hungary 1976.I was about 11years old, when I first decided that i wanted to be a potter. I just knew that this was what I really wanted to do. Between 1994 and 1996, I studied pottery making and from 1996-2002 I was working in a pottery factory and also in a pottery studio in Hungary. In 2002 I travelled for awhile and when I returned, I built my own studio. In 2007 I arrived in Ireland, and I took a job in a Petrol station for awhile, my passion was to have my own studio. In 2011 I moved into Crookstown Craft Village where I design and hand throw all my pieces on the wheel. All are original, glazed and fired by me. I have established a loyal customer following and continue to develop new ranges as well as producing my core range.
